WE TURN BLANK PAGES AND STAGES INTO COMMUNITY
BY HELPING WRITERS WRITE REFINE AND RECITE

At Miami Poetry Club, we believe writers get better when they write, and we believe a community gets better when there are more writers.

MIAMI POETRY CLUB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides space, resources, community, and education for our multicultural and multigenerational adult population to improve their craft and impact their lives with the transformational power of writing.

Our FUTURE vision is to establish Miami as a world-class American literary city in league with New York and San Francisco. Miami Poetry Club is currently applying for funding to establish a permanent Writer’s House where we will host poetry club meetings, readings, workshops. It will also contain the largest poetry collection in southern Florida, where writers may come to write!

MIAMI POETRY CLUB IS GOING PURPLE

This year, we are participating in GIVE MIAMI DAY, a 24 Hour initiative of philanthropy spearheaded by The Miami Foundation.

At Miami Poetry Club, we believe that perfection is the enemy of connection. Too often, people hold back their voices because they feel they need the “perfect” words. We are here to change that. We are solving the communication problem by giving Miamians the tools and confidence to share their stories in real time, in their own language, on their own terms.

That's why we need your help to solve the communication problem.

For us, education is liberation—accessible, creative learning that empowers people of all ages and backgrounds to express themselves and connect with their communities. Through workshops, open mics, and collaborative events, we replace fear with freedom, silence with voice, and isolation with belonging. Our events are meant to celebrate—the diversity of our city, the joy of creativity, and the power of community. Every workshop, open mic, and gathering is both an invitation to write and a festival of voices, lifting up the stories that make Miami extraordinary.

Currently, we are 100% MPC leadership and community funded.
Help us keep Miami Poetry Club’s core events FREE!

A man performs poetry or singing into a microphone, reading from a paper, surrounded by tropical plants and an audience in a lively, possibly indoor or outdoor, venue with colorful lighting.
A man and woman sit back to back on the floor in front of a plain white background. The woman is holding a notebook and pen, while the man is smiling and wearing glasses. Both are casually dressed in black t-shirts and jeans.
